After 50 years devoted to Bharata-Natyam, Shakuntala returns to the source of his beginnings and invites you to discover the choreographies of this great master that was Sri Ellapa Mudaliar.
Malavika initiated him between 1970 and 1974 and transmitted to him the choreographies of the one who became his master. His Padams (dance poems) were transmitted to him by Lakshmi Vishwanathan who opened him to the complex art of the Abhinaya (expression).
Shakuntala invites us on this invigorating journey, without nostalgia, through choreographic stages vibrant with musicality and rhythmic genius.
