The Marx Sisters

Marx Sisters is a French Ashkenazi Jewish music group from Yiddishland in Central Europe, but also performs a repertoire of songs from musicals by Jewish composers in the United States . The group was founded by Mano Siri [ archive ] in 2012. The group perpetuates the Yiddish and Klezmer repertoire in what is festive and universal.

From the depths of a Shtetl dream, the old ritornellos that once punctuated the existence of our Yiddish ancestors reappear. From bouncing refrains to languid melodies, from deep cries of sadness to hopeful prayers, these four (sometimes accompanied by a few accomplices) have chosen to assert that Yiddish is a very living language, which ricochets on the keys of the accordion, brushes the strings of the guitar and unfolds in the grace of a bewitching voice.
